Ao Nang, Krabi, Thailand
Why train here
FA Group Krabi brings a very specific reputation with it: FA Group is famous for Muay Khao, and especially clinching and knees. The Krabi gym is a newer extension of the Bangkok camp, positioned beside Ao Nang Landmark Stadium, so its interesting proposition is not simply "train Muay Thai in Krabi". It is getting access to the FA Group style in a beach destination. Early visitors report good training, boxing, pads, bag work, clinching and sparring, although the Krabi coaching team is not simply the Bangkok staff relocated south. The Krabi branch gives visitors a chance to experience that training philosophy while staying in Ao Nang rather than Bangkok. It is still developing its own identity, and recent visitors have pointed out an important difference: there is currently more clinching at the Bangkok gym, while the Krabi location combines the FA approach with coaches recruited locally. That makes it worth considering for travellers who want FA Group's style but also want beaches and Krabi's slower pace.

Training guide
FA Group Krabi is interesting primarily because of the name behind it.
The original FA Group in Bangkok has become particularly respected for Muay Khao, the knee-and-clinch style associated with fighters such as Petchboonchu FA Group. The Bangkok gym describes itself as specialising in clinching and knee techniques, and its training program puts substantial time into clinching alongside pads, boxing, sparring and conditioning.
That reputation is what gives the Krabi branch its appeal.
A fighter who has specifically travelled to Thailand to improve their clinch game can now combine that type of training with a stay in Ao Nang. The Krabi gym is located near Ao Nang Landmark Stadium, putting students close to one of the area's main fight venues.
The connection to FA Group's established fighter stable is also significant. Yothin FA Group, for example, is listed as a two-time Thailand champion, RWS champion, WBC International champion and Rajadamnern Stadium champion, and now works as a trainer at FA Group. Tom, another FA Group trainer, is listed as a Thailand National Champion and Channel 7 champion.
That gives the Krabi project considerably more pedigree than a completely new local gym starting from zero.
The obvious difference is that you're getting FA Group's Muay Khao identity in Krabi.
This matters if you're specifically interested in clinching. FA Group's Bangkok reputation was built around pressure, knees and close-range fighting, rather than simply offering a generic Muay Thai fitness program. The Bangkok fighter schedule includes dedicated clinching sessions several days per week, alongside pad work, boxing, sparring and conditioning.
The Krabi timetable appears to follow that broader FA Group structure, although the emphasis varies by day. A recent visitor reported boxing sparring, pads and bag work on one day, followed by clinching, pads and bag work the next, with an ice bath session on Saturday. The same visitor made an important distinction: Krabi had good training, but considerably less clinching time than the Bangkok location.
That's useful information rather than something to hide. If you're travelling to FA Group specifically for maximum clinching volume, Bangkok currently appears to be the stronger choice. If you want the FA Group approach while basing yourself in Krabi, the new branch offers a very different lifestyle around that training.

The available first-hand feedback suggests that Krabi is already offering a serious training schedule, but it should not be treated as an identical copy of the Bangkok gym.
One recent visitor trained there in July 2026 and reported sessions containing boxing sparring, pads, bag work, clinching and an ice bath. They described the training as good, while noting that most of the trainers at the Krabi branch were from Krabi gyms, with only one Bangkok FA Group trainer present during their stay.
That's probably the most useful piece of information for someone booking a camp right now.
You're getting the FA Group name, methodology and connection, but the everyday coaching team is developing its own local identity.
The original Bangkok gym's training model also gives some indication of what serious FA-style training involves. Its fighter program includes morning running, boxing, pad work, extensive clinching, sparring, circuit training and conditioning.
Visitors to the Bangkok gym frequently describe the clinching as the defining feature. One recent practitioner said they specifically chose FA Group because they wanted to improve their clinch and found the real-time corrections during clinching particularly valuable.
FA Group Krabi is likely to appeal most strongly to Muay Thai practitioners who already know what they want from training.
Beginners can train there too, and introductory classes are explicitly marketed to beginners, including first-time visitors.
But the gym becomes particularly interesting for intermediate practitioners and fighters who understand why clinching matters.
If you've spent months training mostly pads and bag work and want to develop your close-range game, the FA Group connection gives the Krabi gym a clear reason to put it on your shortlist.
It also suits travellers who want a serious training camp without spending their entire trip in Bangkok. Ao Nang gives you beaches, islands, restaurants and outdoor activities while still putting a serious Muay Thai gym into your daily routine.
If your only objective is the maximum FA Group clinching experience, Bangkok remains the safer choice based on current visitor feedback.
FA Group Krabi makes sense for a very specific type of traveller: someone who wants to train seriously but doesn't necessarily want to spend their camp in Bangkok.
The attraction is the combination. You can work on clinching, pads, boxing and conditioning in a gym carrying the FA Group name, then leave training and be in Ao Nang's completely different world.
Just don't book it expecting Bangkok transplanted to Krabi. The early first-hand reports make clear that the Krabi coaching team is still developing and that the amount of clinching is currently lower than at the original gym. That's not necessarily a weakness. It means FA Group Krabi is becoming its own camp, with the opportunity to train in a major Muay Khao lineage while experiencing Krabi rather than Bangkok.

Some days combine sparring styles; others split Muay Thai, boxing, and clinch across morning and afternoon. Confirm the weekly plan with the camp.
