Chiang Mai
A guided bike ride from the Thailand Biking shop to Wiang Kum Kam, the Lanna town King Mengrai founded in 1286, with stops at the McKean Rehabilitation Center (a former leper colony), a local market and along the Ping River. Bike, helmet and a meal are included. On a training week: a flat ride at an easy pace, so it works as active recovery on a rest day or a morning off. It loosens the legs rather than loading them; take water and keep the pace easy if you sparred the day before. From the camps: the ride starts from the Thailand Biking shop, about 15 minutes by car from the old city of Chiang Mai, and two camps on our list are in Saraphi, close to the route.
